Our Story
From movers
to makers
"We want to be your next favourite dance competition."
It started side stage. Two sisters in folding chairs, still in their teaching shoes, watching the light move across the curtain and seeing all that could be — all that we could bring to it. It arrived as a fleeting thought, the kind you laugh off on the way to the car. Then it kept coming back.
The idea didn't announce itself. It just kept returning — quieter than the music, louder than everything else. Weekend after weekend it grew, and grew, until ignoring it stopped being an option. This was something we were passionate about, and something we wanted to build from the ground up: not a tweak to how things are done, but a whole weekend of our own, from the first count to the final bow.
Thirty-five years of teaching between us had already shown us what it should look like. We love this world right down to the eleven o'clock formation rebuilds — and we kept seeing the people nobody else was looking at: the dancer counting under their breath, the teacher who drove six hours, the choreographer who made the hard thing look easy. Movers & Makers is for every one of them.
So here's season one, and we know exactly what's going on the floor. Divisions that fit the routine in front of you, scoring you can follow, and a stage where a first-time solo and a twenty-two-person line get the same roar. The details aren't decoration — they're the whole point.
A fleeting thought, two sisters, and a whole weekend waiting to be filled. If you've ever wanted a competition that feels like an adventure instead of a test, this is the one to show up for. We'll bring the music and the mayhem. You bring the routine.
